Does it cost anything for W+S to come out and do an estimate?

We do not charge for an estimate. Wood + Stone are seasoned construction estimators and enjoy looking at renovation projects. They consider it a highlight of the process to understand the "before" and listen to our client as they share their vision for the space. Our clients have said that they feel comfortable with Wood + Stone estimators, and that their questions are treated in a respectful and helpful manner.

Question 2

Will my space be photographed? If so, how do I prepare for it?

As part of our process, we ask to take before-and-after photos/videos of your renovation for our portfolio and social media. For before photos, just tidy up if you’d like a clean look.

For after photos, please ensure the space is clean, free of personal items (ie. toys, soaps, appliances, hair products), and that any visible adjacent areas are also neat. The shoot is quick and typically takes about 45 minutes.

How long before my project can begin?

Scheduling for your project is usually 3 months out. For instance, if you decide to contract with us in March your project will commence with demolition in June of that same year.

Question 4

What is the turn around time for the average kitchen renovation project?

Accepted Answer

6 to 8 weeks from time of demolition. A completion date will be discussed and included on your contract.

What is the turn around time for the average bath renovation project?

3 to 6 weeks from time of demolition. A completion date will be discussed and included on your contract.

Are permits required on my renovation project?

It really depends on the city planning and the type of renovation work. You may be pleasantly surprised at the ease in which Wood + Stone completes its city permitting requirements, and that only comes from experience, organization, and top-notch communications. Wood + Stone mediates the permitting process from start to finish, and we provide you with up-dates and the steps alongs the way.

How long will my room addition take to build?

Accepted Answer

All room additions timelines are based upon size, permitting and weather factors. Some of our smaller room additions (500sqft- 1000sqft) have taken anywhere between two months and 4 months to complete while bigger additions (1500sqft- 4500sqft) have taken us 6 months to 9 months.
